IOM furthers the understanding of migration through a variety of events focused on migration issues including national, regional and international seminars and conferences which bring together leading migration authorities to review practical solutions to today's migration challenges.
Recent topics have included: law enforcement cooperation to stem trafficking, data collection on migration, migration and development, border management, the impact of migration on social structures, migration and health, movements and voluntary return, cross-border co-operation in the context of EU enlargement, information dissemination on labour migration, and return and re-integration programmes for migrants.
