BelTa, 13 October 2008

A Belarusian delegation made of representatives of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, the Interior Ministry, the State Emblems Department of the Finance Ministry, State Border Committee, Agat System company, and the IOM representative office in Belarus is studying Austrian experience of introducing biometric technologies, BelTA learnt from the Information and Public Relations Department of the Interior Ministry.

Scheduled to last till October 18, the visit is organised as part of the international technical aid project “Enhancement of Belarus’ potential for managing migration processes” (MIGRABEL). The representatives of state administration bodies will get familiar with technical novelties used in the area of biometric technologies and will visit a passport printing house.

This year Belarusian specialists have already visited Germany, France and the UK in order to learn positive international practices used in utilising biometric technologies.
